About recycelT

recycelT gives old laptops a new life. Donated devices are refurbished locally in Germany: data securely erased, Linux Mint installed, and then given for free to people who need internet access.

💡 The capital “T” stands for the founder’s surname, Birgit, and symbolizes Technology, Participation, and Transparency.

Our Vision

We want to create at least one recycelT community shop in old town centers of small and medium-sized towns, easily accessible by bus and train.

Communities can adopt our system, refurbish laptops, offer Linux Mint introductions, and provide internet access. We also offer trainings so others can set up their own shop.

These shops create social opportunities:

This creates a positive snowball effect: more digital inclusion, less e-waste, stronger communities.

Our Goal

We want elderly or financially challenged people to have access to computers and the internet – for appointments, information, and communication.
